Why is it that hate crime legislation is so discriminating?

Why is it that hate crime legislation is so discriminating? Why is it that if a white person is killed by a person of a different race it isn't ever considered to be a hate crime? Did you know that there were 50 white people killed in Los Angeles during the Rodney King riots and no one was ever tried for a hate crime in those murders? Surely you remember that guy throwing that brick at that white truck drivers head and laughing about it? Surely you understand that was racial hatred?

The brick thrower was never tried for a hate crime. Do you know why? Hate crime legislation does not consider a racial crime against a white person as a hate crime. That's why. Now how can anyone say that hate crime legislation is not discriminatory?|||Hate crims is just liberal mind controll

They wantto tell you what you were thinking when you did it.

It offers special rights to special citicezns

OMG I cant beleive some one said the legislation is sound but the application of that legislation is faulty.

Paraphrase

Well it kinda works in theory but not in practice. but we are going to practice it anyway.

Imagaine if scientists got away with that.|||The legislation is sound, application of the legislation is faulty. Ask your politician!|||The whole concept of "hate crimes" is ridiculous. If someone mugs me, I don't care whether they mugged me because they're a crack addict, or because they have hungry children to feed, or because they don't like the way I look. They mugged me. That's a crime. In all three situations, they created the same crime. Ascribing harsher penalties for one over the other is stupid.
